We liked them all, but some of my favorites were Santa María del Mar and the Cathedral at Strasbourg for architecture; St. Paul's for the history associated with it (and for drinking wine in the crypt, and for the poignant memorial to the American dead of WWII, now strewn with flowers); the three Buckinghamshire churches for holding the remains of and monuments to my ancestors; and Christ Church, Oxford, for its elegance and for the beautiful Evensong service.

Wish we could have got to Canterbury Cathedral. I've been there before, but I really wanted to go with S____. Unfortunately (but understandably), security was so tight at the Eurostar terminal in Kent that we were unable to leave our bags in the station for an outing. Oh well, next time.
