brief eclipse.

I was bartending at the reggae show but no one was drinking wine (except me) so there was notalot to do. I went backstage at one point and the smell of marijuana was absolutely stifling. I was trying to tell Josh about it, saying, oh, it was like a ... Turkish harem ... no, a, um ... and he said, There really is no greater analogy than, "like backstage at a reggae concert." He's right. I think perhaps due to the cloud of smoke everybody seemed in their own little orbits. When people would interact it was as if they were peeking out of those little doors within doors like in the Emerald City. Only maybe it wasn't the reggae influence because afterwards at Elsie's people were much the same. (A horse of a different color.) Maybe it was the planets or the stars. Danny Ash was there, but I didn't talk to him.

the reggae thing was weird.

people were dancing funny reggae dance, like a girl in a red shirt who clapped her hands dance, and her white bra was showing. there was a pretty woman though in fancy african dress with cloth wrapped around her head. it seemed communal. a man in front of us was smoking pot. he had a chinese hat on. he shared with other people.
